The research referenced on this site was first published in the January/February, “Discovery1992” edition of The Californians, The Magazine of California History.  The transcription includes minor modifications to style.

The work was originally presented at the annual meeting of the Association for Northern California Historical Research (ANCHR) in 1978.  The presentation title was “Evidence of Early Spanish Presence in Northeastern California.”  I subsequently continued the research beginning again in 1990. Unfortunately, the result remained inconclusive.

Currently, it appears no archival copies of the “Discovery 1992” edition of The Californians magazine exist online.  With the magazine no longer in publication, the research is referenced now as an online archival resource and PDF copy of the original print publication.

In the event of a future discovery, whether an otherwise anomalous artifact or source document referring to such persons or events as described this paper, this research will serve to provide broader context as well as an anecdotal record of supporting documentation.
